Danone Recalls YoCrunch Nationwide Over Plastic Hazard
Danone North America has recalled all YoCrunch yogurt products nationwide due to reports of transparent plastic pieces, some with sharp edges and up to 25 millimeters long, found in dome toppers containing mix-in toppings. The recall, conducted with the FDA and prompted by multiple consumer complaints, covers all flavors and sizes with expiration dates from July through September 2025, but does not affect the yogurt itself. No injuries have been reported, though the plastic fragments pose a choking hazard, particularly for vulnerable individuals. Danone is collaborating with retailers to remove affected products and advises consumers not to eat them, but to return them for a refund or contact the YoCrunch Consumer Care Line. Detailed product information, including lot numbers and UPC codes, is available on the FDA’s website. The company reaffirmed its commitment to consumer safety and is working to resolve the issue and replenish store shelves.
