Jason Brown Sues Netflix for $30 Million Over 'Last Chance U'

Jason Brown, the former head coach featured in Netflix's docuseries 'Last Chance U,' is suing the streaming giant for $30 million, claiming the show portrayed him in a false and offensive light through selective editing. According to his lawsuit filed in Los Angeles County, Brown alleges that he was misled by producers who promised positive publicity, saying he would receive coaching offers after the show's airing. Instead, he contends that the series depicted him as a 'volatile, abusive tyrant,' which resulted in the loss of $600,000 in offers from NCAA programs and XFL teams. Brown seeks damages for lost income, reputational harm, emotional distress, and punitive damages. His lawsuit follows similar actions from six former players of 'Last Chance U,' who also claim misrepresentation in their portrayals. Netflix has not yet publicly responded to these lawsuits.
