Cardinals' Nolen May Miss Regular Season Start
Arizona Cardinals first-round pick Walter Nolen, drafted 16th overall after a standout season at Ole Miss, has been placed on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list due to a calf injury suffered during offseason training. Head coach Jonathan Gannon stated that Nolen will miss some time and may not be ready for the start of the regular season, with his exact recovery timeline still uncertain. This situation is reminiscent of last year's preseason calf injury to former first-rounder Darius Robinson, which limited his rookie campaign. The Cardinals' defensive line, already missing linebacker BJ Ojulari and defensive lineman Bilal Nichols to injury recoveries, will need to rely on depth during training camp. PJ Mustipher and Elijah Simmons are expected to receive more practice reps in Nolen's absence. The team hopes all injured players will recover and contribute once healthy.
