Fibrus, Nokia Launch Five-Year Network Security Deal

Fibrus, a broadband provider operating in Northern Ireland and Cumbria, has signed a five-year agreement with Nokia to implement the Deepfield cyber security solution across its network. This partnership follows a successful trial and aims to enhance Fibrus's ability to protect against cyber threats, including DDoS attacks, while optimizing network performance. With over 100,000 customers connected and infrastructure reaching nearly 400,000 premises, the Deepfield solution will provide critical network analytics to improve traffic management and resource allocation. Fibrus's rapid growth, driven by a 50% take-up rate of its Fibre-to-the-Home (FTTH) services, necessitates sophisticated monitoring and security measures. Shane Haslem, COO at Fibrus, highlighted the importance of this technology for maintaining high service standards and operational efficiency. Nokia's Deepfield solution is expected to support future expansions and the implementation of higher-capacity network technologies.
