CEO of Global Ikhwan Arrested in Abuse Case

Malaysian authorities arrested Nasiruddin Mohd Ali, CEO of Global Ikhwan Services and Business (GISB) Holdings, along with 18 others, amid a police investigation into alleged sexual abuse at charity homes run by the company. The detentions followed the rescue of over 400 children, aged one to 17, from these homes, many of whom displayed signs of neglect and abuse. Police chief Razarudin Husain confirmed that among those arrested were Nasiruddin's family members and individuals linked to a banned religious sect. Although Nasiruddin admitted to 'one or two' cases of sodomy, he denied widespread abuse. Three men related to the investigation also faced charges of sexual assault at a religious school. The scandal has ignited public outrage and calls for improved child protection measures in Malaysia.
