Two Doctors Plead Guilty to Sexual Crimes
Two doctors in separate states have pleaded guilty to serious sexual crimes. In Billings, Montana, Dr. Usman Hanif Khan admitted to arranging commercial sex with a minor after being caught in an FBI sting operation; he faces up to five years in prison and a $250,000 fine, and is no longer affiliated with St. Vincent Regional Hospital. In Queens, New York, Dr. Zhi Alan Cheng, a former gastroenterologist at NewYork-Presbyterian Queens hospital, pleaded guilty to sexually abusing at least seven sedated patients and raping unconscious women at his apartment, with video evidence supporting the charges. Cheng's medical license has been suspended, and he faces up to 24 years in prison. Both cases have prompted condemnation from authorities and highlight breaches of medical trust. Sentencing for both doctors is pending.
