Sandra Bullock and Keanu Reeves have hinted at the possibility of returning for a third installment of the 'Speed' franchise, contingent upon Hollywood's willingness and audience demand. During a recent 30th anniversary screening of the original film, Bullock questioned whether the industry was brave enough to develop a sequel, while 20th Century Studios president Steve Asbell affirmed their readiness to explore the project if they can find an exciting idea that appeals to both actors. Asbell emphasized that any sequel would require the participation and approval of Bullock and Reeves in the development process, ensuring it wouldn't be a mere cash grab. Bullock humorously suggested a 'geriatric version' of the film, stating it 'won’t be fast', yet expressed her willingness to collaborate. With Asbell's comments suggesting the potential for a fresh narrative akin to 'Twisters', both actors seem open to revisiting their iconic roles, provided the right circumstances arise.
