London has introduced a new fleet of tram-style electric buses on the 358 route, utilizing pantograph technology for rapid charging at route endpoints, significantly reducing downtime and fleet size. These buses, supplied by Spanish company Irizar, include safety and convenience features like 360-degree cameras and USB charging ports. This rollout aligns with Transport for London's efforts to increase zero-emission vehicles and contribute to the city's zero-carbon goal. Concurrently, the UK government has announced nearly £1 billion in funding to improve bus services across England, with an emphasis on fair allocation based on need and deprivation levels.
