Caterpillar Celebrates 100 Years at CES 2025

Caterpillar Inc. is celebrating its 100th anniversary with a series of events and a year-long centennial celebration, officially marking the milestone on April 15, 2025. The company, which originated from the merger of Holt Manufacturing Company and C.L. Best Tractor Co. in 1925, has evolved from producing track-type tractors to leading innovations in autonomous construction and mining equipment. CEO Jim Umpleby emphasized that the company's success is due to the dedication of its employees and the trust of its customers. The celebration kicked off at CES 2025, showcasing advancements in autonomy, connectivity, alternative fuels, and electrification, with a highlight being the 55,000-pound Cat 972 Wheel Loader featuring a hybrid retrofit. Attendees at CES also experienced interactive displays, including a 24-hour electrified job site simulation and a Centennial Hub highlighting ten decades of technological advancements. Caterpillar aims to continue its legacy of innovation and sustainability into the next century.
