Fort Collins teen charged in May home invasion, assault

Ethan Campbell, an 18-year-old from Fort Collins, has been arrested in connection with a violent assault that occurred on May 4, 2024, when he allegedly broke into a healthcare worker's apartment. The victim, who was asleep in her second-floor unit, reported that Campbell, wearing a mask, entered through the balcony and assaulted her while demanding she confess how she had sinned. Following the incident, police received a critical tip in January 2025 from a community member who believed they encountered the suspect, leading to a search warrant executed on February 1, 2025, where evidence linked Campbell to the crime. Campbell faces multiple felony charges, including attempted first-degree murder and first-degree assault, and will be charged as an adult despite being a juvenile at the time of the offense. He was apprehended at Fort Collins High School and is currently held on a $750,000 bond.
