Punjab Police Bust Cross-Border Drug Network Seizing Heroin, Arresting Three

Punjab Police have achieved significant successes in dismantling cross-border narcotics networks through a series of coordinated operations. Notably, they neutralized a notorious drug trafficker named Raju in Jagraon, recovering heroin, drug money, and weapons, while his accomplice escaped. In separate operations, three smugglers from Ferozepur—Sandeep Singh, Judge Singh, and Babbu Singh—were arrested, and authorities seized over 5.4 kilograms of heroin along with Chinese-made pistols and related ammunition. Investigations indicate that these narcotics consignments were delivered via drones operated by Pakistan-based smugglers, prompting extensive probes to unravel the full network. Additionally, Punjab's Counter-Intelligence unit and the Border Security Force collaborated in ambushes and seizures, further disrupting these smuggling operations. Meanwhile, in nearby Arunachal Pradesh, police uncovered a militant recruitment and arms trafficking network linked to insurgent groups, revealing the intertwined nature of narcotics and militant activities in the region.
