Duplantis, Warholm to Race 100m in Zurich
Olympic pole vault champion Armand Duplantis and 400m hurdles world record holder Karsten Warholm will compete in a 100m exhibition race on September 4 at Zurich's Letzigrund Stadium, ahead of the Diamond League meeting. This race, emerging from a friendly rivalry, will showcase both athletes' sprinting abilities despite their primary disciplines differing. Duplantis, who recently set a new pole vault world record of 6.25m in Paris, has a personal best of 10.57 seconds in the 100m from 2018. Warholm, the 400m hurdles silver medallist from Paris 2024, last clocked 10.49 seconds in the 100m in 2017. Both athletes have expressed enthusiasm for this rare sprint competition, which has been a year in the making. The race is anticipated to be a thrilling event for track and field fans globally.
