U.S. Marshals Kill Federal Probation Fugitive in Chandler Shooting

A man wanted for violating a federal probation warrant related to smuggling undocumented immigrants was shot and killed by U.S. Marshals in Chandler, Arizona. The U.S. Marshals Service Arizona WANTED Task Force located the suspect at a residence and followed him as he fled in his vehicle. Officers initially used less-lethal tools to try to stop the man, but when he drew a gun, law enforcement responded with gunfire, fatally wounding him. No law enforcement officers were injured during the incident. The Federal Bureau of Investigation is coordinating with the East Valley Critical Incident Response Team to investigate the shooting. The incident occurred near Price and Germann roads, and officials have released few additional details.
