Parents Charged After Malnourished Twins Found in Pennsylvania

Tracy and Joshua Dechant, a couple from Pennsylvania, have been charged with felony counts of endangering the welfare of their twin 15-year-old sons after the boys were found severely malnourished and abused. The investigation began when one of the boys was discovered running naked outside in single-digit temperatures, seeking help from neighbors. Upon rescue, both boys were hospitalized, weighing only 53 and 55 pounds, significantly below the average weight for their age. Authorities revealed that the twins had been subjected to physical and emotional abuse, including being denied food and water, and were reportedly not attending school or receiving regular medical care for eight years. Following the incident, the twins were removed from the home, along with three younger siblings, and are now under the care of family members. Preliminary hearings for the Dechants are scheduled for February 3.
