Netflix to Reboot Live ‘Star Search’ Series

Netflix is reviving the iconic talent competition series 'Star Search,' which originally aired from 1983 to 1995 and helped launch the careers of stars like Beyoncé, Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears, and Dave Chappelle. The reboot is produced by Jesse Collins Entertainment and showrun by Jason Raff, known for 'America’s Got Talent.' Streaming live twice weekly, the show will feature interactive viewer voting to decide which contestants advance across music, dance, variety/comedy, and kids categories. Weekly eliminations will add momentum, while hosts and judges have yet to be announced and casting is underway. The revival is part of Netflix's broader strategy to expand live and event programming.
