Jerry Saltz Critiques Dwyane Wade Statue

Pulitzer Prize-winning art critic Jerry Saltz has harshly criticized the newly unveiled statue of Dwyane Wade outside the Miami Heat's arena, labeling it a 'sh*t work of art.' He described the statue as lacking character and ambiance, comparing it to a cheap trophy and claiming it resembles 'The Rock' rather than Wade. Despite Wade's involvement in the creation process, Saltz argued that the piece looks like it was produced by committee and lacks a personal touch. Other former players, including Carmelo Anthony and Draymond Green, have also joined in the criticism. The sculptors, Omri Armany and Oscar Leon, defended their work, asserting that Wade approved the design at various stages. Nonetheless, Saltz remains firm in his disdain, even questioning the artistic credentials of the sculptors.
