San Diego FC Acquires Emmanuel Boateng from Revolution

San Diego FC has announced the acquisition of veteran midfielder Emmanuel Boateng from the New England Revolution for $200,000 in General Allocation Money. The 30-year-old Ghanaian, who holds a U.S. Green Card, has extensive MLS experience with 210 appearances, 17 goals, and 26 assists over nine seasons. Boateng is expected to provide versatility and depth in San Diego's inaugural season, complementing existing talents like Chucky Lozano. His connection to the Right to Dream Academy, which is integral to San Diego's identity, was highlighted by SDFC's Sporting Director Tyler Heaps. Boateng played a significant role in New England's 2021 Supporters' Shield win and had a productive stint with the club, scoring eight goals and providing 13 assists during his tenure. San Diego FC is set to begin its first regular season match on February 23 against the LA Galaxy.
