In-N-Out President Moves Family, Expands in Tennessee

Lynsi Snyder, president and heiress of In-N-Out Burger, is moving her family from California to Tennessee, partly to provide associates with more affordable housing and family opportunities, in addition to citing business and safety challenges in California. The company is opening a new 100,000-square-foot office in Franklin, Tennessee, as part of its southeastern U.S. expansion, but will maintain its corporate headquarters and most of its stores in California. Snyder emphasized that the move is not an abandonment of California, responding to backlash from some fans who viewed the decision as a betrayal of the company's roots. She referenced prior issues such as closing the Oakland location due to crime and disputes over COVID-19 restrictions. Snyder expressed continued appreciation for California and reaffirmed In-N-Out's commitment to its origins. The company plans to grow operations in both California and Tennessee.
