Mark Cavendish Discusses 2021 Armed Robbery

Cycling legend Mark Cavendish has spoken out about the traumatic experience of being held at knifepoint during a violent home invasion in November 2021. Armed with a 'zombie knife', masked intruders threatened Cavendish in front of his wife, Peta Todd, and their young son, ultimately stealing watches valued at £700,000. Cavendish revealed that he continues to suffer from flashbacks of the incident, stating, "To have a zombie knife held up to your throat in front of your kid? It was horrific." Three of the four assailants have been convicted and sentenced to prison, while one remains at large. Cavendish expressed gratitude for being present during the attack, fearing the consequences if his family had been left unprotected. He also addressed the stigma he faced regarding his possessions, emphasizing that no one should blame the victim in such situations.
