Victoria Beckham Calls Spice Girls Era 'Triggering'

Victoria Beckham told The Sunday Times that being asked about her time in the Spice Girls was “quite triggering” and that revisiting that period felt “almost like therapy,” something she only felt able to do after nearly two decades. She appears in a three‑part Netflix docu‑series that includes the band years but is intended to focus on her fashion journey and the struggle to escape the “celebrity brand” label. Beckham said the interviews forced her to confront emotional moments — she cried during filming — and that the series also touches on family, business problems and money lost. She said she remains in contact with Emma Bunton, Geri Halliwell and Mel B and credits the Spice Girls with shaping who she is. The series shows her preparing for Paris Fashion Week, and at the time of the interview she had not yet seen the final edit.
