Sophie, originally named Sophie Beckett in Julia Quinn's novels, has been renamed to reflect Ha's Korean heritage. Sophie, a maid with a mysterious past, meets Benedict at a masquerade ball, leading to a Cinderella-like storyline. Ha's casting and the name change were partly her decision, aiming to make the role more personal.
