Ledecky Extends Streak, Wins 800m Freestyle in Indy

Katie Ledecky won the 800m freestyle at the 2025 Toyota U.S. Swimming Championships in Indianapolis, posting an 8:05.76—the third-fastest time ever recorded and just 1.64 seconds behind her own world record. She led the race throughout, maintaining world-record pace until the 650m mark. Ledecky now holds the 11 fastest times in the event and has extended her 15-year unbeaten streak in the 800m freestyle. Her victory secures her seventh consecutive appearance at the World Aquatics Championships, a record for a U.S. swimmer, with the 2025 event set for Singapore.
