Officials Review Preparedness for North-East Monsoon

Officials across Tamil Nadu are intensifying preparations for the North-east monsoon as heavy rainfall and potential cyclones approach. Education Minister Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi inspected flood management measures in Nagapattinam, focusing on drainage clearance and medical facilities. In Prakasam district, Social Welfare Minister Dola Sree Bala Veeranjaneya Swamy coordinated cyclone response efforts, highlighting the establishment of control rooms and evacuation plans. Meanwhile, Madurai officials are tackling flooding issues, with measures to enhance drainage systems and deploy motor pumps. Tourism Minister R. Rajendran emphasized the importance of maintaining sewage systems and preparing emergency medical camps in Salem. Additionally, Finance Minister Thangam Thennarasu called for expedited repairs and readiness in flood-prone areas in Kanniyakumari.
