Texans Top 49ers 26-15
The Houston Texans defeated the San Francisco 49ers 26-15 in Houston. C.J. Stroud rebounded, completing 30-of-39 passes for 318 yards, two touchdowns and one interception while adding 30 rushing yards. Houston’s offensive line gave Stroud time and the run game gained 157 yards (rookie Woody Marks 62, Nick Chubb 56), enabling play-action and long, possession-heavy drives that produced scores on six of the team’s first seven possessions. San Francisco’s depleted pass rush and injuries to key edge players left them unable to pressure Stroud; the Texans outgained the 49ers decisively in the first half. Mac Jones finished 19-of-32 for 193 yards and threw a late interception, and Christian McCaffrey was limited to eight carries for 25 yards (plus three catches for 53). George Kittle and Jake Tonges scored touchdowns and the 49ers recorded an interception, but Houston’s balanced offense and clock control proved decisive as San Francisco heads into a tough stretch of road games.
