Azealia Banks Demands Apology and Damages from Healy

Azealia Banks has issued a cease-and-desist letter to Matty Healy, frontman of The 1975, demanding a public apology and $1 million in damages following a heated exchange on social media platform X. Healy had reportedly threatened to 'slap' Banks in a now-deleted post, which Banks' lawyer claims amounted to defamation and cyber harassment. The exchange escalated after Banks criticized Charli XCX, leading Healy to accuse Banks of being jealous and attacking other women, culminating in his threat. Healy later apologized on X, acknowledging his comments were inappropriate, but this was not enough to prevent Banks from seeking legal recourse. Banks' lawyer stated that if the matter cannot be resolved amicably, they would pursue legal action. Healy's representatives have not yet commented on the situation.
