Multiple Sunflower Festivals Open Across Midwest, Mississippi This Summer

Several sunflower-related events and festivals are taking place across various regions this summer, celebrating the vibrant flower in different ways. Old McDonald Farm in Sale Creek is offering free sunflower seeds to encourage participation in the Hamilton County Fair's agriculture competitions this November. Meanwhile, the 37th annual Sunflower River Blues and Gospel Festival will be held in downtown Clarksdale in August, featuring local musicians and cultural festivities. Sam’s Sunflowers near Stoke Fruit Farm announced its opening date for visitors to enjoy sunflower fields, new activities like FootGolf, and live events including line dancing and music. The Lindsey Sunflower and Homecoming Festival, though facing a late planting season, will offer sunflower-themed decorations, live entertainment, kids activities, and unique events such as a reptile display and fire truck pumper pull. Additionally, the Schwirian Farm Sunflower Festival in Forward Township welcomed visitors for its sixth year with sunflower picking and a scavenger hunt.
