Two Arrested as Cornwall Murder Investigations Expand

Devon and Cornwall Police have launched two murder investigations in Cornwall following the arrest of a 39-year-old man from Sticker and a woman in her 30s from Newquay. The man was initially arrested on suspicion of fraud related to a missing person inquiry but was later also arrested on suspicion of murder. On July 1, police discovered the body of a man in a wooded area between Truro and St Austell, which is being treated as suspicious and linked to the investigations. Formal identification of the deceased has been completed or is pending, with families informed. Police believe the two incidents are connected but have stated there is no wider threat to the public. Officers continue to maintain scene guards and urge the public to provide any information while advising against speculation.
