Stella Li Named 2025 World Car Person of the Year

Stella Li, Executive Vice President of BYD, has been awarded the 2025 World Car Person of the Year, marking a historic moment as she becomes the first woman and the first representative of a Chinese brand to receive this accolade. The award, voted on by a jury of 96 international automotive journalists, recognizes Li's significant contributions to BYD's global growth, including major model debuts and entry into new markets. Li emphasized that the award reflects the efforts of BYD's 110,000 R&D engineers who drive technological advancements in sustainable vehicles. Her leadership has propelled BYD to produce over 10 million new energy vehicles, solidifying its position in the automotive industry. Competing against notable figures like Ralph Gilles from Stellantis and Simon Humphries from Toyota, Li's vision and strategic planning were pivotal in her selection. The award will be presented at the New York International Auto Show on April 16.
