All Black Wear Gallery Affair Opens February 21 in Alberta

The All Black Wear Gallery Affair, part of the 5 Artists 1 Love exhibition, will showcase five Black Canadian artists at the Art Gallery of Alberta from February 21 to March 30. The event, known for its all-black attire dress code, has grown to attract over 1,200 guests annually, providing a unique platform for diverse artistic expressions from various aspects of the Black diaspora. Curator Darren W. Jordan aims to highlight underrepresented Black artists in the community, emphasizing the diversity and unique styles of each participant. The exhibition has evolved significantly since its inception nearly two decades ago, moving to larger venues to accommodate its increasing popularity.
