Prime Minister Narendra Modi has virtually inaugurated two new Vande Bharat Express trains in Odisha, enhancing rail connectivity between Berhampur and Tatanagar as well as Rourkela and Howrah. The Brahmapur-Tatanagar service, which will operate six days a week, will cut travel time to approximately nine hours and is part of a broader initiative involving over Rs 1 lakh crore in railway infrastructure development in the state. Additionally, two new Vande Bharat trains are set to be introduced in Maharashtra, strengthening connectivity across western regions, with ongoing projects worth ₹81,580 crore aimed at enhancing railway services. Further plans include additional routes in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, with the government prioritizing railway accessibility and infrastructure improvements nationwide.
