Rape Culture Reported in 1,664 UK Primary Schools

A new report by the campaign group Everyone’s Invited reveals that rape culture is prevalent in over 1,600 primary schools in the UK and Ireland, with anonymous testimonies from children aged five to 11 detailing experiences of sexual harassment, groping, and forced penetration. The report highlights that nearly half of children under seven exhibit signs of misogynistic behavior, and over 60% of teachers have observed young students exposed to pornography. One testimony recounts a five-year-old victim being dismissed by school authorities, who labeled the assault as 'just playing.' Another account describes a 10-year-old being threatened with rape, illustrating the severity and normalization of sexual abuse among young children. The campaign group is advocating for the introduction of age-appropriate sex education in primary schools to address this critical issue. The findings underscore the urgent need for educational reforms to combat the deeply rooted misogynistic attitudes in early childhood development.
