Cool, Gusty Halloween; New England Wind, Montreal Rain
Forecasters now expect a broadly cool, unsettled Halloween with clouds, spotty rain or sprinkles and trick-or-treat temperatures generally in the 30s–40s, with isolated snowflakes and localized frost/freeze concerns. Montreal is under a rainfall warning for 40–60 mm today, with wet conditions easing over the weekend ahead of Sunday voting. Parts of the South and interior valleys have frost/freeze advisories (protect plants, pipes and livestock); West Tennessee looks relatively dry for Halloween but faces a risk of rain returning Saturday night. New England is under wind advisories with gusts up to 50–60 mph in places that could cause outages and downed trees, and many inland areas will remain breezy with gusts around 35–50 mph into next week. Most forecasts show a drying and warming trend Sunday into next week, with highs rebounding into the 50s and 60s and locally warmer.
