Royals Defeat Guardians 4-1 Behind Cameron, Garcia
Noah Cameron led the Kansas City Royals to a 4-1 victory over the Cleveland Guardians by escaping a bases-loaded jam in the first inning and pitching five innings of three-hit ball with six strikeouts. Maikel Garcia contributed a key homer and two RBIs, while Vinnie Pasquantino and Luke Maile also drove in runs. The Royals' bullpen, including closer Carlos Estévez who earned his 27th save, allowed only a solo homer by Gabriel Arias in the final innings. Cameron, a 26-year-old left-hander from St. Joseph, Missouri, lowered his ERA to 2.44 and has remained undefeated since June 27. Joey Cantillo started for Cleveland but lasted only four innings, giving up three runs and four walks. Despite going 0-for-6 with runners in scoring position, the Royals secured the win and look ahead to a series against the Braves, while the Guardians return home to face Colorado.
