Public Consultation for Major Solar Farm in Wales

The Welsh Government has notified Denbighshire Council about plans for the Bodelwyddan Solar and Energy Storage project, which is considered a Development of National Significance due to its export capacity exceeding 10MW. Developed by Island Green Power, the project aims to generate up to 110MW of electricity, sufficient to power approximately 26,650 homes, and contribute to Wales' net-zero goals. Community consultation events are scheduled for January 30, allowing local residents to engage with the project and provide input. Nick Bowen, senior project development manager, emphasized the importance of clean energy in reducing carbon emissions and fostering community involvement in shaping the plans. A project website has been created for further information, and local residents have received newsletters detailing the project's objectives and consultations. The project is set to connect to the Bodelwyddan substation as part of its energy infrastructure.
