Swedish AI Legaltech Legora Raises $150M Series C, Valued at $1.8B, Plans Global Expansion

Swedish legal AI startup Legora has secured $150 million in a Series C funding round, raising its valuation to $1.8 billion and joining the unicorn club. The round was led by Bessemer Venture Partners with participation from existing investors such as ICONIQ, General Catalyst, Redpoint Ventures, Benchmark, and Y Combinator. Founded in 2023 and headquartered in New York, Legora has rapidly expanded its customer base from 250 to over 400 law firms and doubled its market presence from 20 to more than 40 countries, serving firms including Linklaters, Deloitte Legal, and Bird & Bird. The company’s AI-powered platform helps legal professionals with document review, research, drafting, and collaboration, positioning itself as a digital transformation partner rather than just a software vendor. With nearly 200 employees across offices in Stockholm, London, New York, Denver, and Sydney, Legora plans to more than double its headcount and establish new global hubs to support continued growth. This funding milestone underscores strong investor confidence in Legora's technology and global expansion strategy amid growing adoption of AI in legal services.
