Omar Abdullah Sworn In as Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister

After the swearing-in of Omar Abdullah as Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi emphasized that the formation of the government feels incomplete without the restoration of statehood, which was revoked in 2019. He reiterated that democracy had been taken from the people and vowed to continue the fight for statehood. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and other leaders of the INDIA coalition also expressed their commitment to restoring statehood, with Kharge stating that it would be ensured. Omar Abdullah, in his response, appreciated Gandhi's support and highlighted the importance of restoring statehood for the people of J&K. This marks Abdullah's return as Chief Minister and the first elected government since the region's reorganization.
