Nate Schmidt Brings Stanley Cup to St. Cloud Crowd

Nate Schmidt, a 2010 graduate of Cathedral High School in St. Cloud, celebrated bringing the Stanley Cup to his hometown after winning it with the Florida Panthers in June 2025. Approximately 2,000 fans gathered at the Municipal Athletic Complex to see Schmidt and the trophy, marking a historic moment as Schmidt is the first St. Cloud native to be part of a Stanley Cup-winning team. The ceremony included speeches from Cathedral representatives and photo opportunities with the Stanley Cup, allowing fans and family to share in the celebration. Schmidt’s hockey career includes playing for the University of Minnesota, multiple NHL teams, and signing for the Utah Mammoth for the upcoming season.
