Austin Butler has revealed the physical toll of performing his own stunts across multiple projects, including a torn rotator cuff from a pitbull attack during rehearsals for Quentin Tarantino's Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. Despite protective measures, the dog's grip injured Butler's left arm, forcing him to switch to his right arm for filming the fight scene against Brad Pitt's character and his pitbull. In his upcoming film Caught Stealing, Butler pushed for authentic fight scenes, encouraging co-stars to hit him harder, which led to an actor headbutting him so forcefully it nearly cracked his rib. He also described being slammed onto a wooden table without pads for close-up shots, emphasizing his willingness to endure bruises and injuries for realism.
