U.S. Researchers Identify Russia's Skyfall Missile Site
Two U.S. researchers, Decker Eveleth and Jeffery Lewis, have identified a probable deployment site in Vologda, Russia for the 9M370 Burevestnik, a new nuclear-powered cruise missile. Using satellite images from Planet Labs, they detected a construction project near a nuclear warhead storage facility, which includes nine horizontal launch pads. President Putin claims the missile, dubbed SSC-X-9 Skyfall by NATO, has an almost unlimited range and can evade U.S. defenses. However, Western experts question its strategic value and highlight potential radiation risks. The Russian Defense Ministry and U.S. agencies have not commented on these findings.
