Moped Rider Killed in Port St. Lucie Hit-and-Run

A 29-year-old moped rider, Alexis Alvarez of Brockton, was killed in a hit-and-run incident in Fairhaven, Massachusetts, on Saturday night. The crash occurred around 7:11 p.m. when a Chevy Silverado struck the moped and fled the scene; Alvarez later died at St. Luke’s Hospital. Meanwhile, in Port St. Lucie, Florida, a 37-year-old man was also killed in a separate hit-and-run collision involving a black truck, possibly a Dodge or GMC, late Friday night. The truck continued southbound after hitting the moped and the victim succumbed to injuries at Lawnwood Hospital. Both police departments are actively investigating the incidents and seeking public assistance to identify the drivers responsible.
