Dolly Parton has launched a nationwide casting search for her upcoming Broadway musical, 'Dolly: An Original Musical,' set to premiere in 2026. The show will depict different stages of Parton's life, requiring actors of various ages to portray her journey. Parton is welcoming both seasoned performers and undiscovered talents to audition by submitting a one-minute video of them singing a Parton song, tagged with #SearchForDolly on social media, and completing an application on the musical's website. The musical promises to be a celebration of Parton's music and life, featuring her classic hits and new material. Audition submissions are open until January 12, 2025, after which selected candidates will be invited for in-person auditions in New York City. Directed by Tony-winner Bartlett Sher, this production marks Parton's first full-scale Broadway endeavor, fulfilling a long-held dream.
