Man Charged with Involuntary Manslaughter in Marshfield

Richard Lombardi, a 65-year-old man from Marshfield, Massachusetts, has been charged with involuntary manslaughter and assault and battery on a person over 60 following the death of his 80-year-old roommate, Frank Griswold. The incident occurred during a dispute over Thanksgiving meal preparations when Lombardi allegedly shoved Griswold, causing him to fall and hit his head, resulting in fatal injuries. Lombardi stated he was concerned about Griswold's sneezing contaminating the food, leading to the altercation. Despite their long-standing friendship of 30 years, Lombardi is now being held without bail and is scheduled to appear in court on December 4. Authorities have reported that Griswold died from blunt force trauma. The case remains under investigation by the Massachusetts State Police and Plymouth District Attorney’s Office.
