East Midlands, Manchester Airports introduce new drop-off systems

East Midlands Airport is set to implement a new barrier-free drop-off system in early May, aimed at improving traffic flow and enhancing the passenger experience. The system will utilize Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) technology, allowing drivers to exit without stopping at barriers, thereby reducing congestion. Users will need to pay the Rapid Drop-Off fee online or by phone by midnight the day following their drop-off, with no payments accepted at the exit. Frequent users, including taxi drivers, can establish auto-pay accounts for convenience. The changes follow recent upgrades to the airport's facilities, which include redesigned parking areas to better accommodate traffic and pedestrians. This initiative reflects the airport's commitment to enhancing service as it celebrates its 60th anniversary.
