Bowling in an unbroken 10-over spell, Chahal's performance helped bowl Kent out for a mere 82 runs, setting a new low for the team. Despite this win, Northamptonshire struggled throughout the tournament, finishing eighth in Group A and failing to qualify for the quarterfinals. Chahal, who was announced as a signing just an hour before the match, also played a role in the Indian T20 World Cup victory but had not featured in any games. He is expected to participate in the remaining fixtures of the County Championship Division Two as well. Other notable Indian players, including Ajinkya Rahane and Prithvi Shaw, are also competing in the tournament.
