Peter Thomas Sentenced to 18 Months for Tax Fraud

Peter Thomas, a former star of 'The Real Housewives of Atlanta,' has been sentenced to 18 months in federal prison for failing to pay over $2.5 million in employment taxes across multiple businesses. He pleaded guilty to one count of failure to pay trust fund taxes in June and was accused of using the funds to enrich himself while neglecting his legal obligations. U.S. District Judge Kenneth D. Bell Sr. also ordered him to undergo two years of supervised release and pay restitution of $2.5 million to the IRS. Prosecutors highlighted that Thomas spent significant amounts on luxury goods while neglecting payroll taxes owed to his employees. In an Instagram post prior to his sentencing, Thomas expressed remorse and urged young business owners to learn from his mistakes. His attorney described him as a respected community member who is now regretful of his actions.
