Fyre Festival Brand Sells on eBay for $245,000

Billy McFarland, the founder of the infamous Fyre Festival, has sold the festival brand and intellectual property on eBay for $245,300, a sum far below the $26 million restitution he owes from his wire fraud conviction. The sale included trademarks, social media accounts, marketing assets, and documentary footage, but the buyer remains undisclosed. McFarland expressed disappointment over the final price but noted the auction's high visibility, calling attention 'currency' and hinting at a new tech venture focused on monetizing online views. Previous attempts to relaunch the festival, including a planned 2023 event, failed amid setbacks and lack of local support. Reports suggest the Fyre brand may be repurposed into a music streaming service, with some intellectual property already acquired to help launch the Fyre Music Network later in 2025. Despite the controversial legacy, McFarland stated that Fyre Festival is just one chapter of his story as he moves on to new projects.
