Chattanooga Police Shoot Dead Suspect After High-Speed Pursuit Near Hamilton Place Mall

A 21-year-old man was fatally shot by Chattanooga police after a high-speed chase near Hamilton Place Mall, where the suspect fled from officers and drove erratically at speeds over 100 mph. The suspect rammed multiple vehicles and attempted to hit officers before being shot when his vehicle became stuck and turned toward pursuing officers. Two other passengers in the vehicle sustained minor injuries, with one hospitalized briefly and the other detained for questioning. Chattanooga Police Chief John Chambers emphasized that such dangerous behavior will not be tolerated in the community. Both officers involved have been placed on administrative leave, and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is handling the ongoing criminal investigation. Authorities have asked anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
