19-Year-Old Charged with Four Murders in Lancaster
Miguel Diego Sandoval, a 19-year-old man, has been charged with four counts of murder following the shooting deaths of four individuals in their Lancaster home on November 16. The victims, Christine Aca-ac, 25; Janvi Maquindang, 21; Edwin Garcia, 24; and Matthew Montebello, 23, were allegedly targeted while they slept, with Sandoval also facing charges of residential burglary and arson for setting the house on fire to conceal the crime. The Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office has highlighted special circumstances, including murder while lying in wait. Deputies rescued Montebello from the blaze, but he succumbed to his injuries the following day. Sandoval was arrested on November 21 and will be arraigned on January 27, with potential life imprisonment if convicted. The case has deeply affected the local community, prompting expressions of sorrow from the District Attorney's office.
