The Birmingham Police Department is investigating the homicide of 31-year-old Atlanta man, Deundray Cottrell, whose body was found in a shed on July 6 after he went missing on July 4. Cottrell, a doctoral student and dancer, was last seen checking on his dog during a family visit in Birmingham. His romantic partner, Julian Taylor Morris, is a person of interest and is currently being sought by authorities. Cottrell's death was initially deemed suspicious, and surveillance footage showed him running through yards, appearing to seek refuge. Morris has not been charged but disappeared the day after Cottrell went missing. A $5,000 reward is being offered for information leading to Morris' whereabouts.
