Jennifer Lopez Credits Ben Affleck for Financing $30M 'Kiss of the Spider Woman' Film

Jennifer Lopez has credited her ex-husband Ben Affleck and his production company Artists Equity for financing and bringing her dream project, the musical drama film Kiss of the Spider Woman, to life. Lopez, who plays multiple roles in the film, described it as a role she was "born to play" and expressed that the movie would not have been made without Affleck's support. The film, directed by Bill Condon and adapted from the 1992 West End musical, is set to release in US theaters on October 10, 2025. Despite their marriage ending in divorce in early 2025, Lopez said working on the film was a refuge during a difficult time in their relationship and helped her grow and become more self-aware. Affleck is one of the executive producers, alongside his producing partner Matt Damon, who also helped produce Lopez's 2024 biographical sports drama film Unstoppable. Lopez reflected on the emotional complexity of filming the movie during her marital challenges, calling it "the best thing that ever happened to me because it changed me".
